The first step is to come up with an amazing course idea and submit it for approval. We'll review as soon as we can and get back to you with a yay or nay. In the case of a nay, we'll provide constructive feedback and help you adjust your idea to a format that works for Listenable.

Great Listenable courses help make knowledge accessible and easy to grasp, even when listeners are busy commuting or making a sandwich. And while visual subjects like design or photography can be a little tricky, there's always a way to make it work! Browse our topics to see where your course fits in. If you don't see a topic that matches your content, contact us to suggest a new one.

The better the audio, the more likely your listeners are to stick with you through the entire course. We recommend looking for an affordable podcasting microphone with a pop shield. However… that's definitely not necessary. Listenable experts have created amazing, engaging courses with nothing more than the microphone in their smartphone— the content is what matters most!

Our courses are about 1-2 hours long, broken up into about 7–20 lessons, roughly 3–10 minutes each.

More than anything, we want to see amazing courses reach eager lifelong learners. But we're still a business, and a business needs to make money. To help us stay afloat, learners (not teachers) support Listenable by paying either a small annual or monthly subscription ($59.99 or $9.99 respectively).

To encourage the best educators, we offer a lucrative royalty program that rewards course creators based on engagement. To do this, we set aside 30%–50% of our revenue each quarter and return that to our teachers. You'll be compensated based on the total minutes listened to by our community. For example, if you added up all the minutes listened in a quarter, and 5% of that time was spent on your courses, you'll receive 5% of the revenue allocated to the teacher royalty pool that quarter.

Absolutely nothing. Educators can create for free and earn royalties for minutes listened.

Listenable currently promotes audio lessons and courses to tens of thousands of students, each eager to learn something new. Reaching them is simply a matter of creating your course and allowing our learners to discover it. If you'd like to reach more learners, we also have a wealth of information available to help you successfully reach people outside of the Listenable platform.

The content you create belongs to you. You retain full rights and can do virtually anything you want with your course material. However, in order to maintain a catalog of unique content, we do ask that you avoid posting your entire audio course elsewhere. If you choose to do so, we'll unfortunately have to remove your course from our catalog.
